A second successive 66 has given Bradley Dredge a one-stroke lead heading into the weekend at the M2M Russian Open.
The Welshman carded five birdies and no bogeys on Friday to reach 10-under at Skolkovo Golf Club.
Dredge’s last victory on the European Tour came back in 2006 at the Omega European Masters and the 42-year-old was understandably delighted with his exploits.
“For me the highlight has been the putting, I’ve been putting really well,” he said. “If I can keep that going and improve my iron play a little bit then that will be good for the weekend.
“I’m delighted. Back-to-back 66s and no dropped shots. I’m very pleased with that.”
His nearest challenge in Moscow comes from England’s Lee Slattery who fired a 67 on Friday to reach nine-under, while Australian Daniel Gaunt is two off the pace after a 69.
It was a mixed day for defending champion David Horsey, as after not dropping a shot in his first 15, a bogey and a double-bogey in his final three holes saw him sign for a 70 to leave him five off the lead.
