Holes-in-one are part of Drew’s landscape

LUCKY landscaper Drew Lumsden has beaten odds of 183 trillion-to-one to score a staggering six holes-in-one in one year – including four at St Andrews, the home of golf.

The 58-year-old, who plays off five, began his lucky streak when he recorded the first three aces of his sextet at St Andrews.

He then went across the Atlantic to achieve his next ace while on holiday in America, before returning to Scotland to achieve his fifth and sixth holes-in-one at St Andrews and Moray.

Whether due to topographical knowledge or a deal with lady luck, the St

Andrews golfer has been awarded two limited-edition BOSS watches for achieving two holes-in-one in club competitions.

The landscaping business owner would have also been rewarded with membership of the BOSS Watches H1Club, had he not already received it when he was awarded his first watch.

He said: “My first ace was with an eight-iron on the 144-yard, par-three fifth on the Eden course.

“The second was four months later on the 192-yard, par-three ninth on the Jubilee course. But the third came three months after that on the par-four fourth back at the Jubilee course where I hit my driver pure onto the green from 253 yards!

“I scored my fourth hole-in-one with my five-iron 15 days later on the 159-yard, par-three fourth on the Magnolia Course at Disney World, Orlando.

“Then, three months later I managed to hole my tee shot on the 300-yard, par-four 15th on the Strathtyrum course back at St Andrews.

“Finally, I achieved my sixth ace with a six-iron one month later, on the 152-yard, par-three 13th on the Cullen course at Moray – a total blind shot over volcanic rock.

“I’d never had a hole-in-one before, except in crazy golf, and then ended up getting six in one calendar year! My secret is hard work, confidence … and lots of luck!”
