Jamie Elson wins The King Hamad Trophy in Bahrain

For many, the disappointment of an early exit from the European Tour’s Q-School would’ve been enough to call an end to the season and toss the clubs into the garage.  Not Jenahura Ambassador Jamie Elson.

Accepting an invitation to play in The King Hamad Trophy at The Royal Golf Club in Bahrain, Jamie opened up with two excellent rounds of 69 to lead the field heading into the final round on 6-under par.  A closing round of 72 in breezy conditions with some tricky pins was good enough to beat good friend and defending champion Andrew Marshall who, ironically had been influential in sourcing Jamie an invite!

With victory, Jamie collected the winners cheque of approx. £5,000 and a sought after invitation to the European Tour’s visit to Morroco in May for the Trophee Hassan II.

Since the beginning of August, Elson has now recorded four Top-10 finishes and two wins from 10 starts.  Full of confidence and in great spirits, Jamie now heads to the BEKO Classic Pro-Am played at The Maxx Royal Golf & Spa in Turkey which tees off on Thursday.
