Home favourite Henrik Stenson says he is looking forward to teeing it up this week at the Nordea Masters.

The Swede has found his progress in 2015 somewhat hindered by illness but says he is now back to full fitness ahead of what promises to be a busy summer.

Last year Stenson fell agonisingly close to making the play-off, failing to make a birdie on the last to fall one shot shy, as Thongchai Jaidee took the honours.

The 39-year-old is targeting a similarly strong performance this time around and the world number four is hopeful that he can give the home crowd what they want by finally winning in Malmo.

“It’s great to come back,” he said. “I really received a warm welcome last year – there was so much support for me and all the other Swedish players.

“I didn’t have my best finish and ran out of steam a bit on the Sunday. I still had a chance on the 18th and needed to make a birdie to be in the play-off, but that didn’t happen. Hopefully I can be there until the end this year.”
