Cabrera-Bello wary of Sunday woes

Rafa Cabrera-Bello is in a three-way tie for the lead at the French Open but remains fully aware of his final-round lapses.

The Spaniard carded a second round of 70 to move to four-under par at the halfway stage at Le Golf International, alongside home favourite Victor Dubuisson and 2009 champion Martin Kaymer.

Cabrera-Bello has seemed close to winning his first title since the 2012 Dubai Desert Classic on numerous occasions this season, only to let himself down in his final round.

However, he does not seem to be haunted by the problem and feels that one day soon it will all come together.

“Obviously some things had been going wrong because my scoring during the first two days, or even Saturday, as well, compared to Sunday is not quite the same,” Cabrera-Bello said.

“But I’m working on that, so I’m going to keep knocking on the door and one day, it will open for sure.”

Francesco Molinari, James Morrison, Tyrrell Hatton, Daniel Brooks and Jaco Van Zyl are all just one shot off the pace at -3, with Bernd Wiesberger, Maxmilian Kieffer and Felipe Aguilar a shot further back.

However, Graeme McDowell will not be completing a hat-trick of French Open titles as he missed the cut after a second round of 78.
