Dustin Johnson has become the latest player to confirm he will take part in October’s Hong Kong Open.
The event, which is co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours, has an extremely impressive list of previous winners, with Miguel Angel Jimenez taking the crown four times, while Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter and Colin Montgomerie have also triumphed in the last decade.
Justin Rose recently confirmed his participation for this year’s tournament, which takes place at Hong Kong Golf Club from October 22-26.
World number five Johnson has now added the event to his schedule and says he is looking forward to taking part in the competition.
“You look at some of the names who have won the tournament… you realize there’s a great history there,” he said. “Those are the kind of trophies you want to get your name on.
“As golfers, we are very lucky to have the chance to travel the world playing the game we love and when you get the chance to visit cities as exciting as Hong Kong, then it’s difficult to say no.”
