Jon Rahm says he cannot wait to tee off in the Italian Open on Thuhrsday at the “fantastic” Golf Club Milano.
The world number five, who is looking for his second European Tour title of 2017 after his triumph in the Irish Open in July, will play alongside Masters champion Sergio Garcia and in-form Englishman Tommy Fleetwood on Thursday in the first round.
His playing partners are the two men currently ahead of him in the Race To Dubai standings and Rahm is seeking a win this week to boost his chances of coming out on top.
The Spaniard says he will relish the Monza event and is clearly a big fan of the course.
He told the European Tour website: “The course is fantastic. It’s always great to come back to Europe and play all those traditional golf courses that I don’t play in the States that often.
“Courses that are 60, 70, 80 or a hundred years old. It hasn’t been altered much and it’s beautiful to play, and it’s really, really fun and I really enjoy it, so hopefully I can play some good golf.”
