Englishman Justin Rose insists he is feeling confident about his game as he prepares to compete in the US PGA Championship on Thursday.
Rose will come into the 97th addition of the tournament in fine form after finishing third at last week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.
The 35-year-old could have claimed the victory but a disappointing round on the final day cost him dear.
He has now finished sixth, fourth and third in the last three events he has entered and Rose is feeling good ahead of Thursday’s opening round.
“I played really well last week but obviously there is the frustration of not finishing it off,” Rose told reporters.
“You go into the final round tied for the lead with another great player like Jim Furyk and you certainly never count your chickens like it’s going to be an easy walk in the park on a Sunday.
“I feel like I’m trending in the right direction.”
