Jordon Spieth has admitted it was “incredible” to come out on top to win the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
The American managed to produce a final-round 69 to take the title in Georgia, which meant the FedEx Cup also now belongs to the 22-year-old.
Not a bad day at the office for Spieth, who bagged £7.5m on Sunday, to take his overall prize money earning for the season over £14m.
New Zealand’s Danny Lee, England’s Justin Rose and Swede Henrik Stenson were also in contention at East Lake, but the group eventually finished four shots behind the winner.
Spieth was delighted with the win and believes he got his rewards for the effort put in through the week, especially with the putter.
He said: “This is one I cannot wait to celebrate. This is incredible.
“This is an event we approached like a major championship. I didn’t have a great play-off, but I put a lot into this week. Mentally, I stayed in it. And boy, that putter sure paid off.”
