Victor Dubuisson is hoping he can take the momentum from his recent win into the end-of-season DP World Tour Championship.
The Frenchman bagged his second European Tour title after victory in the Turkish Airlines Open and the triumph was the first in two years, with the 25-year-old winning the same event back in 2013.
It was a huge relief for the 2014 Ryder Cup star and this was evident as he broke down in tears on the 18th green after sinking the winning putt to finish ahead of South Africa’s Jaco van Zyl.
The success has lifted Dubuisson to seventh in the race to Dubai standings although he is still over 1000 points adrift of Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, who leads the field.
Attention now turns towards the final event in the UAE and the world number 35, who was runner-up to Sweden’s Henrik Stenson in the previous edition, is hoping for another big challenge.
“I have been in contention to win the DP World Tour Championship for the last two years,” he said. “I finished second and third in the last two years so it is a golf course I know I can play well on and now that I have a lot of confidence I will be going to Dubai to try and win the tournament for sure.”
