Kevin Kisner feels like he belongs amongst the world’s elite players after grabbing his maiden PGA Tour title on Sunday.
The American, who led the RSM Classic going into the final round, produced a sensational performance on the last day to finish six strokes clear of compatriot Kevin Chappell in second on -22.
Kisner carded six birdies in a bogey-free display and has finally lifted his first trophy, having been runner-up three times this year at the RBC Heritage, The Players Championship and the Greenbrier Classic.
The 31-year-old, who is being tipped to make the 2016 US Ryder Cup team for the event at Hazeltine, has moved to world number 17 and the Aiken-born believes he deserves to be around the best players.
“If I play the way I have since Hilton Head, I feel like a top 20 player,” he said. “Absolutely.”
Graeme McDowell used the momentum from his recent victory in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba as the Northern Irishman ended up in third place on -15.
The 2010 US Open champion signed for a three-under 67 on the last round but never really challenged over the last 18-holes, finishing seven shots off the pace.
America Jon Curran was a further two off the leader while Sweden’s Freddie Jacobson rounded off a good tournament by clinching fifth position on -12.
