Justin Rose is looking to continue his recent consistent run of form by securing glory at the Masters this week.
The Englishman enjoyed his best ever showing at Augusta 12 months ago, finishing in a tie for second, four shots behind eventual champion Jordan Spieth, who equalled the tournament’s record score on his way to glory.
Rose himself went on to secure top-six finishes at two more majors during 2015 and he has continued his consistent run of form in other events as well, registering 10 top-10 finishes in his last 19 professional starts.
The 35-year-old believes his solid form will stand him in good stead in Georgia, as he aims to add to the US Open title he won at Merion Golf Club in 2013.
He said: “I think that I’ve sort of been steady. I haven’t really had any fireworks yet this year. I feel like all of my backroom work has been fantastic and my preparation has been coming along nicely. I’m under the radar but certainly feeling good with my game.”
The world number nine believes he has developed a great affinity with the course at Augusta National Golf Club, where he has claimed three top-eight finishes in the past, including second place in 2015.
He added: “To win here, it’s a venue that we come back year on year, you begin to develop that relationship with the course, the venue, the feel. And it’s somewhere I feel very, very comfortable. I’ve had a lot of good rounds here. Last year, I was able to put four together in a row.”
Rose will partner Jamie Donaldson and Daniel Berger during his opening round on Thursday, where he will be looking to repeat the five-under-par score he achieved on day one at the event 12 months ago.
