American Wesley Bryan showed glimpses of his potential as he moved into the lead at the rain-hit John Deere Classic in Illinois.
Bryan, who usually plays on the Web.com Tour, was in fine form on just his third appearance on the PGA Tour.
Heavy rain delays caused chaos for the majority of the field and, like others, Bryan was forced to finish his first round on Friday. He finished with a five-under 66 before recording a 64 for his second 18 holes.
Darkness eventually stopped play and that allowed Bryan to take the outright lead in front of Steve Marino and Tom Gillis.
Speaking after his round, Bryan admits his game is in a good place going into the final two rounds.
He told the PGA Tour official website: “Been hitting the ball great all week, really the last couple weeks. Struck it well, made the putts when I needed to, and here we are.
“Knowing that I’ve been there and been able to hit the shots under pressure, I think should help me out moving forward.”
Kyle Stanley is in fourth on his own and he sits just one shot in front of Morgan Hoffmann, Andrew Loupe, Ben Martin, Hudson Swafford and Kelly Kraft.
