Great Britain’s Justin Rose became golf’s first Olympic champion since 1904 after he beat Henrik Stenson in the final round in Rio.
The 36-year-old started Sunday’s round with a one-shot lead but a bogey allowed Stenson to come back into contention.
Rose made six birdies and two bogeys throughout his round and eventually signed for a four-under 67 in front of a packed crowd in Brazil.
He and Stenson exchanged shots for the majority of the day but the win was decided on the 18th hole.
The Swede three-putted from the far side of the green while Rose’s approach shot allowed him to tap in for a birdie.
Rose eventually won by two shots, while the Bronze medal went to American Matt Kuchar who carded a 63 to finish with a round of 13-under par.
Belgium’s Thomas Pieters finished in fourth after a round of 65 while Rafa Cabrera Bello, Kiradech Aphibarnat and Marcus Fraser all finished in a tie for fifth.
