Luke Donald says he is looking to make a late push to try and earn himself a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup next month.
The 38-year-old, who missed out on selection for the European team at Gleneagles in 2014, has little time to impress current skipper Darren Clarke ahead of the competition at Hazeltine.
Donald finds himself in contention at the Wyndham Championship but the Englishman knows he is going to have to do something special over the next few weeks to impress Clarke.
He was quoted by Sky Sports saying: “I need to win probably tomorrow and probably needs to have a good chance to win The Barclays to have a chance.
“It’s been a slow season for me. It hasn’t been consistent but I’ve been working extremely hard and it’s nice to see some form coming into play.”
