Charl Schwartzel has confirmed he will take a small break from competitive action to concentrate on his swing.
Schwartzel, who has picked up two wins this year at the Tshwane Open and the Valspar Championship, struggled on his recent appearance at the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai.
The 2011 Masters champion finished the European Tour event in a tie for 30th on -2 after rounds of 72, 71, 72 and 71 at the Sheshan International Golf Club.
South Africa’s number three struggled with his swing throughout the four days and that was very unusual for a player that is usually so consistent on the golf course.
The 32-year-old has now revealed he will miss next week’s Turkish Open and instead return home to analyse and try to improve his swing with his dad.
He said: “I will just work on my own swing with my dad, I can see it on the camera already but it?s just very difficult to fix while you?re playing in a tournament.”
Schwartzel will return to action in the Nedbank Challenge, starting on December 3, which has been revamped to form part of the final Race to Dubai, and will feature a full field of 72 players.
