England will be represented by Andy Sullivan and Chris Wood at the World Cup of Golf after Danny Willett and Justin Rose declined.
It had been expected that Masters champion Willett would link up with Olympic champion Rose for the event at Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne from November 24-27.
However the Sheffield golfer opted out last week because he is struggling with a back problem, while Rose also has a back issue which resulted in him asking not to be selected.
As a result, Wood was drafted in and he picked 30-year-old Sullivan as his partner following his good year, in which he made Darren Clarke’s European Ryder Cup team that lost to the United States at Hazeltine at the start of last month.
Wood and Sullivan will be one of 28 two-man teams representing their respective countries at the event in Australia.
