World number one Dustin Johnson says he will spend the next few weeks practicing his putting after a disappointing week on the greens.
Johnson carded a four under 67 in the final round of the RBC Heritage on Sunday and ended up finishing in a tie for 17th which ensured he kept his number one status ahead of Justin Thomas, who would have moved to the top of the rankings had his rival finished outside the top 40.
Johnson was happy with his performances from tee to green but was disappointed with his efforts with putter in hand and will now take action to try and improve it.
“I played the golf course tee to green pretty well. I struggled on the greens a bit,” said Johnson.
“I’ve got a few weeks off, so I’m going to spend a lot of time on the putting green.
“I feel like I’m swinging it really well, wedging it really good. So every part of my game is going really well, I’m just not making as many putts as I’d like to.”
