Sergio Garcia has buried the hatchet with Padraig Harrington and has vowed to help him if he’s made Ryder Cup captain.
Two-time Open winner Harrington is many people?s pick to be the next European team captain when team Europe travel to take on America in their own back yard in the Ryder Cup in two years’ time.
After his tremendous display in Paris this time around, Garcia became Europe’s biggest points-scorer ever in the competition but he has had a frosty relationship with the Irishman in the past, leading to fears about the next Ryder Cup.
The Spaniard says those problems are all behind the pair now after they patched things up Rory McIlroy?s wedding last year and in Paris during Europe’s victory.
“We had chats in Paris, great chats, talking about the team, scenarios,” Garcia told the Spanish golf portal.
“Everything that happened between us in the past now and Padraig and I have a good relationship and we get on really well.
“If he’s selected as captain and I am in the team, I will do everything possible to help him in any way I can to make the team as good as it can be.
“There’s not much more to say.”
