Canada date for Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy will make his first appearance at the RBC Canadian Open this summer ahead of the US Open.

The Northern Irishman will compete at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario from June 6-9, a week before he heads to Pebble Beach for the US Open.

“I’m really excited to play in my first RBC Canadian Open,” the world number four said. “I’ve had the opportunity to see the passion that Canada has for our sport and I look forward to seeing the energy of Canadian golf fans first hand.”

McIlroy will come up against current world number one Dustin Johnson in Canada, with Jim Furyk also committed to the event.
